I love to decorate with trays! There are so many beautiful designs and colors to choose from, and most are affordable, as well as practical. I have a number of trays in my home, and I use them interchangeably in different rooms all year round. I always look for styles and materials that can work in more than one room and look good wherever they are placed.

This oval-shaped natural woven rattan tray is currently on my coffee table in our family room, but it could just as easily work in the master bedroom or one of the guest bedrooms. I like the color contrast of the white-washed tray and the espresso finish on the coffee table. The tray is not too large or imposing and fits well in the overall color scheme of the room. The white ginger jar and the white ceramic vase on the mantel are both from Afloral.com.
This footed and mirrored tray with handles, originally purchased as a two-piece set, is not only beautiful and practical, but also really versatile. Right now, the tray is on our dining room buffet table. The larger tray (seen here) is 22 inch x 12 inch, and holds some of my favorite wine glasses (bought at Marks & Spencer, U.K., many years ago). The gold lamps are also very versatile and look great in different rooms in our home!
The beautiful mirrored tray (shown below) is one of my current favorites. The design is very elegant and timeless. I ordered this online from World Market, and although the original gold color was very pretty, I changed it slightly to a more brassy-colored gold using my favorite gilding wax. The small blue and white ginger jar complements the delicate look of this vignette.
Here is another lovely tray, also from World Market that has pride of place in our den, on a glass table. The top of the tray is made of marble. It looks equally nice on our kitchen island or in the guest bathroom. I like placing some of my favorite objects on this one. I love bird figurines and as you can see in some of the photos, they feature prominently in my decorating style. The cockatoos in this photo were purchased from Target a while back!
